Exercise Prevents Muscle Loss With Aging
At P2 Personal Training we know that people lose muscle mass with age, which is a condition called sarcopenia. This problem is linked to poor mobility, falls, insulin resistance, diabetes and premature death. Significant sarcopenia makes it difficult for older adults to live independently. A review of literature by Italian researchers in Rome concluded that resistance exercise is the best way to maintain muscle mass and strength in older adults, while plyometric's is best for preserving the heart and circulation.
